Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I thought users might benefit from some information on standard mileage rates to charge clients.

Since gas prices here in Canada have topped $1.00 a litre, I've had to start charging my clients mileage. In the past I always included it in my standard day rate, pretty much regardless of how far I had to drive.

This website has a chart with standard mileage rates for Canada.

This IRS website lists standard Milaeage rates in the US for 2006

I hope this is helpful!

Best.

Considering I have to drive sometimes three hours one way, I certainly do charge mileage. I used to charge $10 per hundred miles, but will be revising that price.

And here are the 2007 rates-

Standard day rate mileage here in TX is at 30 cents a mile right now. Not sure if that helps or not seeing you're in Canada, but hopefully it gives an idea...

30 cents a mile seems crazy low. Back in the mid 90s I was being reimbursed 32 cents a mile. I would guess someplace btwn 35 and 45 cents a mile is a more reasonable rate. I haven't charged for mileage lately - but I think I'd go with atleast 40 cents/mile. I really think that's fair.
