wow I have been looking at some images shot by the RED in a magazine , and they are AMAZING!!!!!!! its not of this world :engel017: , I have been reading about the DALSA which is great too , the 4k images are beautiful , sharp , clear , PERFECT! . I wanted to ask if anyone knows if the RED will used at all in film productions. If it where , how would they show it in theatres all across the US? Im pretty sure that the theatres cant handle 4k :-Happy(DBG):

Check out Reduser.net.
It's going to be used in a lot of film productions. Red footage can be scanned and transferred to film to be viewed the old fashion way, but soon the theaters will be able to handle 4k footage.

Yes, it really looks great.
A feature has been shot here in Spain. It's a movie about Ernesto Che Guevara. A friend of mine was part of the crew. He told me they had lots of problems with the camera during the shooting. It seems that it gets too hot, even in the studio.
Haven't seen images from the movie yet

I know Sony is already making deals with theater chains and is starting to put in 4k projectors in selected theaters. It's coming. I know it's been slow, but HD and beyond will get here eventually.
Like Sacksnack said check out reduser.net. There is more than enough information there to keep you busy for years. There are links to footage and topics on some filmouts that have already been done.
With 4k to play with and pretty flexible workflow (once it's all sorted out) there will be plenty of distribution options.

Yup, this was one of the early builds. There were some funny stories about frozen peas, etc. ...I guess it wasn't so funny with them.
Through all of the growing pains, the thing that people conclude with is that the image is unbelievable. Having seen the old footage, that Peter Jackson shot, on 4k projector at NAB, I'm very hopeful.
Now, they will just keep ironing out the kinks.

they should be using 4k in the next 4 or 5 years or so because 4k technology isnt stablized enough yet so technology is going to have to improve before they do anything big with the RED.
