I cannot seem to setup the HV20 with FCP6 correctly. I've recorded "24p" footage on the camera, but everytime I finish easy setup (HD, HDV Firewire Basic, 29.97fps) I get the following message: "Final Cut Pro 6 is unable to locate the following devices: HDV (1440 x 1080)60i" After trying more specific settings via Audio/Video Settings Sequence Preset: HDV - 1080i60 Capture Preset: HDV Device Control Preset: HDV Firewire Basic Video Playback: None Audio Playback: Built-in Output I get the following error message after trying to log and capture: "Unable to initialize capture device" I thought I've followed all the instructions posted by Apple and other users... am I missing something? Thanks for your help!

Ensure that the output of the camera is set to HDV/DV not DV Locked

That setting was correct. But in the camera's playback settings it has to be set to HDV, not auto. THanks for the help

Auto works fine for me, I find that you should have the camera turned on before you open FCP6 inorder for FCP to initialize it. Hot swapping is funky w/4 to 6 pins. I turn the cam off before I ever plug the 4 pin in and then plug the 6 into the comp. I burned the 4 pin ports on a JVC deck and a VX2K 3 years ago by hot swapping 4 to 6 pins. There weren't any warnings against this back then.

i have FCP 3.0. any chance i can use the HV-20 with this system? or am i forced to upgrade? i haven't purchased the camera yet and this could influence my decision.
