Hey guys, I'm just asking a question for a friend of mine.
He has a crappy Panasonic DV-GS13, and was wondering what some of the highest quality miniDV tapes there are available.
Thanks a lot!

i think panasonic discontinued the master tapes, but the DVM63PQs are pretty good.

Thanks man!
Anyone else have an opinion?
Edit: are these (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-AY-DVM63AMQ-Quality-Mini-DV-Digital/dp/B000KEZEAM/ref=sr_1_1/104-9675770-2955162?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1194556035&sr=8-1) the Master Tapes you were talking about?

I think there was a different tape that panasonic made that they called master which they discontinued. Those were only 6.95 for a 63 minute tape. but I personally would go with the PQs because they have pretty good quality and it wouldn't be worth it to get $10 tapes for a camera like that.

Can you really tell different between in quality/colour when using different brand name for the MiniDV tape?

No you can't, quality is identical. It's simply that statistically, better made tape are less prone to dropouts and other artifacts that can ruin your footage.
