Hi,
I'm just wondering about you guys who use professional camcorder for living from wedding to hollywood film production - What kind of camcorder do you take with you for your own holiday with friends or family?
For my self, I dont do videography for living just for hobby usage - I take with me tiny camcorder - Sony DCR-PC1000E
:) hehe I wonder who take professional camcorder for their own holiday
Best Regards

Depending on where I'm going, I'd definitely bring my DVX. I don't usually take holidays, but I'd probably bring the DVX if I did.

Those DVX's are real nice. I always wished I had gotten one of those instead of my Sony 3 Chips. Hmm today.. hmmm maybe bring m old Sony TRV-900 or JVC HD10. To be honest, havn't thought about either since I got the JVC HD110. Incidently both the DVX and JVC HD110 make great looking SD DVD's. My sony and JVC HD10 are not as good. Want to trade your DVX for a HD10 and TRV-900? NO?

The TRV900 would actually probabaly be my choice for a small "toss it in the bag" vacation camera.

Yeah for holiday/fun things I just take an old single chip minidv camera. Anything bigger and then I'm not having fun. And if I bring the HVX, then I feel compelled to put a shotgun mic on it and my vidled and have to bring a suitcase worth of crap just to shoot. And usually when I'm on vacation I bring no camera at all. Cameras are work (and I enjoy my work), but I try to leave work at home on vacation.

I'm running a JVC HD110, HD10 and a Sony TRV-900. If I had a chance.. .trade the HD10 and the TRV-900 for a HDX-100b and use that as a knock about. Incidentally, i would be interested in seeing a JVC HD110 and a Panasonic DVX100b both shooting 24p, widescreen and then burned to DVD and shown on a LCD or Plasma HD set. I wonder if at that point if there was much diffference. I might have been able to save $1,500 and rendering time getting a DVX100b. I think there is still life in that platform, though maybe for only another few years.

Both the Sony TRV-900 and the Panasonic AG-DVX100A are good camcorder.
