New member here, I need some help finding a printer for use making mass quantities of DVD case inserts. I'm starting a new business part of which is DVD duplication for the customer of the video's I shoot for them. Any suggestions from consumer grade to large industrial printers would be helpful. I'm an editor by trade and have no knowledge of this side of the business, yet I would figure a regular inkjet would run out of ink about 30 inserts in. My projects are 100 to 500 DVD's at a pop and I don't want to be blowing any more money on ink than I have to.
Thanks
Tim
Printing speed will also be an issue for that many. Xerox has a printer brand that I can't think of right this second, but they make great office-grade color printers. They use ink "blocks" so no cartridges to refill, no wasted ink at all. You can get some of the printers for free if you sign an "ink usage" agreement to buy a certain amount every month. I think the one my old boss chose required about 3000 pages a month to make sense. And they print pretty good quality (but check for your needs, they have many models) and FAST. Now if I can just remember the brand name.... Try the Xerox site or call them.

You also might want to check out www.discmakers.com
They have printers, dupers, cases, sleeves, and most any thing you need for doing it yourself. They also offer full service packages that are pretty reasonable. Its a fun catalog and website to browse through.

Here's the source to apply for the Free Color Laser Printer from Xerox:

You do have to maintain a predetermined number of prints per month and you have to purchase all consummables from Xerox directly.
