Considering the HVX, and have a couple of questions:
1.) Just curious if anyone has used the HVX for any reality tv shoots or knows of any productions that have done so?
2.) What settings on the HVX in DVCPRO HD would most likely be used to replicate reality tv like video?
Thanks.

Reality-TV like video? What might that be? Reality-TV like video is probably just inferior quality video due to less controlled lighting. You probably don't want that.

2.) 1080/60i will give you a very strong "TV" look that will work well for reality TV.

Thanks for your help -- I am new to all of this and am a student learning the basics of production.
What settings would you recommend for shooting a "very strong TV look" when shooting in SD?
Thanks!!!!

60i again.
Relativly flat colors & gamma, let the brighter parts almost clip a little more, use a neutral white balance and don't color-grade to any extreme. Most Reality TV, just like TV news, is straight from the camera with no CC at all. Forget styles, 'just get a "clean" picture and get it on the air', is what you are going for.
