Fisheye converter

I have this fisheye that i use on my DVC30 that has a tiny scratch on the front element that barely shows up in the footage. A modification to this lens was discovered on another forum where you cut off the neck of the lens which houses two macro elements i believe (yea, it sounds super sketch but ive seen footage and the only difference is that the vignetting is sharper). By doing this, do you think that this scratch would be more or less likely to show up in the footage? Im guessing that it would show up less because the scratch would be out of the focal range of the camera but the dudes over on the skate perception forums who invented this mod don't know too much about stuff like this.
