Hi all,

I didn't think it would happen... but I was granted access to film within, an event. A big one. And it will be televised. The promoters are letting me film for my documentary in return for due credit & promotion in my movie (which I will definitely do).

Right now, I have an "actor" form which I downloaded for the athletes who might be filmed.

But I was wondering overall... is there other stuff I need to do to cover my ass? This footage won't be shown to anyone or shared until the project is fiinished. I don't want to slander anyone in the movie or make anyone look "bad". That's not the goal. But in case someone does take it that way... (which I don't see how) is there some sort of insurance option I should be looking into in case someone tries to accuse me of slander or so?

Thanks

Phil

If it's a live event, I recomend piggybacking your film cameras with some video cameras, If you can. This way, your sure not to miss anything. Nothin worse than something grand happening while your reloading a mag.

No direct experience with this (Filming) but after 12 years in business I have learned this: There are two times/ways you can hire an attorney, before there is a problem (preventative, inexpensive) or after a problem surfaces (reactive, expensive). I would find a good attorney, who deals in entertainment law. More than likely they can guide you in the right direction and already have whatever forms per say you might need. Any basic customization a paraleagal will do. This may cost you a couple of bucks up front, but I think it would be worth it. Certainly it is better than spending a ton of time and money to finish your doc, only to find out that you can't release it.
