I have an MPEG-2 company intro that i would like to come up before the menu screen using Encore. Is anyone hear familiar enough with the program to explain to me briefly how this might be done. I cant figure it out for the life of me. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

I will assume you have imported the clip. Next right click over the clip and create a timeline. Then right click on the timeline and you should have an option to set as first play. Then on your timeline properties you will need to choose your menu for the end action. That should be the steps to get you there.

thanks for the help but it didnt work. ive imported the clip as an assett. i was playing around with the set as first play before i typed question here. when i set it as first play and preview dvd all it does is play my intro clip no menu screen. I even built the dvd just to see if it was a preview issue but still same thing. then i just did what you suggested and i set the menu as end play and it brought up a box asking me what i wanted to link it to. i selected the menu and clecked ok. and i built dvd only to get same results. am i missing a step somewhere else in my project? heres what i did roughly.....
1. Imported main video as an asset
2. Imported intro video as an asset
3. Transcoded main video (no need to transcode intro its DVD legal already)
4. Made main menu and linked main video to the play video button
5. Made a new timeline of intro video and set as first play
6. Set main menu as end play
please help!

I had a similar problem and what I did was changed all my files to be identical. I realized I accidentally rendered in after effects a video file to mpeg2, when all my imported video were avi files.

weird...that sounds correct. what version are you using? Did you check out the project in the flowchart to make sure it's all linking properly?
I'm at work, so I can't check out encore myself but what you did sounds right...I can play with it later on this evening.
