anyone had issues with not being able to recognize AVC recorded P2 cards with final cut or P2CMS?
It's interesting - the cards are there and the files are there - but P2CMS marks them as incomplete. I haven't tried any of the AVC yet and haven't followed the discussions on it.
For a second I thought it might have something to due with my 10.5 update - but probably not.....
anyone read anything I haven't had time to read yet?

Not sure about FCP being able to recognize AVC Intra. I will be upgrading my HPX2000 with the new AVC card. I also have to purchase the AVC Intra Plugin from Canopus in order for it to work with AVC. Ther is another site (Creative Cow) that some FCP users are talking about this issue

Nathan, I posed this question in the Apple Final Cut users forum a few weeks ago, and someone responded that in order to import footage shot with the AVC Intra codec, you would have to capture the footage in real time via a HD-SDI connection, and use the new Apple ProRes422 codec in FCP. I don't own this camera yet, but I have a keen interest in acquiring one as soon as the 32GB P2 cards are out (with Barry Green stating in a recent post the 64GB P2 cards will be available in another six or seven months). I hope this helps.

I'm just repeating what I was told. Jan's said the 64GB cards are "right around the corner" and in Aus they said that they may be on the market in the middle of next year. Nothing definitive there, but a reasonable ballpark estimation would say that we should hear the introduction of the 64GB card announced at NAB, with deliveries starting probably in May or June-ish.

I believe there's a version of P2 Viewer that recognizes AVC-Intra files, isn't there?
