Or they picked a marijuana field!

CSI: DVXuser - There's something just not right with that pic.
There's a car in the ditch, which explains the emergency vehicles. So the helicopter arrived to take photos of the accident and just "happened" to see a field vandalized. Hmmmm I'm thinking this is a fake... but a very good one.
Look closely at the different tracks left in the field. There's 3-4 different styles (or layers). Some parts look like a blur (or nudge) effect was used and other sections definitely used the Photoshop clone tool (see pic). Also, the sections where the straight lines of the field meet the tracks left by the vandal just don't look consistent.

If one part is fake then you gotta wonder about the rest.

Well I don't think the tracks need to be consistent. In fact, if they were, I would think something is wrong. They're driving on bumps and over large plants while swerving side to side, sometimes stopping, sometimes reversing, sometimes going slow, or fast, so it makes sense that it's everywhere and the tracks aren't lined up.
Also, I don't think it looks like a clone tool or nudge. Just looks like plants mangled in different ways, some standing up, some moved around. I think it's because it's plants, that from far away, it looks like it could be a blur tool.
Maybe you're onto something, but I don't see anything wrong.

Actually fields like those are very symmetrical and even (like a football field). If you drive through them (or make crop circles) you're going to get pretty consistent results.
But the main thing that makes me believe it's a fake is the fact that there's an accident scene. What are the odds that a helicopter would happen to see a vandalized field right next to an accident scene? The most likely scenario is that the helicopter took photos of the area and then someone got their hands on it and enjoyed using the blank canvas of the field to have some fun.
Then again, maybe it is real. The framing of the shot might suggest there really was something done to the field. I don't know for sure. That's why this was a tough one. But I am still leaning towards fake because of the 2-3 areas where there's obviously some cloning (my favorite photoshop tool).
Photos (or videos) that just randomly show up on the Internet, without any background story, are not to be trusted. :) It takes the fun out of it, but it also makes it fun trying to figure out how they did it.

True, for some reason I thought this was from a news article. But it's not, so you could actually be completely right.
Perhaps there was something in the field (maybe another crash?) and that's why the framing is how it is?
I've got to agree with PK on this one, I blew it way up and found a bunch of pixels with the exact same RGB values...

I don't know whether it's fake based on the image, but I just assumed the car in the ditch was the one that did it. I didn't think they were 2 separate, coincidental occurences.-

Jim - I thought that too. But how did it end up in that ditch when it came out from the same side? If it came out of the field on that side then it would have crossed the street and hit the ditch on the opposite side. That vehicle looks as though it was going straight down the road, lost control, and flipped into the ditch. And what's up with this (see pic)? Where did he come from? Maybe he entered from behind the barn, drove around the small green field to get warmed up and then made his way to the big field to really let loose. There are tracks in the smaller field. Hmmm Who knows. I wish there was a story about this. Maybe MattinSL can make one up for us. lol

Jim - I thought that at first too. But how could it have ended up in that ditch when it came out from the same side? If it came out of the field on that side, at high speed, then it would have crossed the street and hit the ditch and some trees on the opposite side. That vehicle looks as though it was going straight down the road, lost control, and flipped into the ditch. And what's with the tracks point of entry (or exit), on the right side of the field?
Why should you loose control on a straight road? I think he drifted a sharp turn onto the road and overtwisted.
And the right entry/exit.. well there is a dirt road and we don't see where its coming from. I don't think there is something strange.

Why should you loose control on a straight road?
People have accidents all the time on straight roads. Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Capt. Morgan, just to name a few. :)
Sorry, I just don't see how the physics got him to end up there - from the field (facing the direction he came from). Maybe if his car was further down the road a ways, giving him enough room to gain some more speed before losing control. But he couldn't have been leaving that field going too fast (look at it - the tracks are almost perpendicular to the road). If he left the field quickly he would have ended up on the opposite side. And if he left slowly then he would have needed to floor it, within 30 meters, to end up flipped in that ditch. Which is possible, since he probably wanted to leave the scene of the crime quickly.
Again, I don't know. That's why this episode of CSI: DVXuser isn't the best. :)

Forget whether or not the ruined field is a fake or not....where the hell is it that the roads they drive on are only 1 car wide?
Sheesh. Thats one narrow street.

True.
And every now and again some have slighter wider roads:
http://magazine.continental.com/images/2005_dec/been_there/BeenThere_full_page.jpg
Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires... 16 lanes wide.
I've been there many times, and I swear those lane markers are just painted on for decoration.
Maybe this guy was from Argentina and just used to being able to move in that wide of a space?

i think the guy that drove through the field was also the one who designed the interstate system in atlanta.
