View Full Version : Audio Sync Issues with 720p60 footage

I just need to say this out loud to confirm I am not crazy.

1) I set the camera up for 720p60 in the Recording Setup Menu
2) I set the camera for 24fps in the Scene File Menu

Should I be getting an undercranked clip or am I getting a 60p clip with pulldown for 24fps?

When I look at the file in log and transfer in FCP, the clip plays at normal speed in sync. When it is imported to a timeline (either 720p24 or 720p60) it plays back with an audio sync issue where the sound seems to be playing back too fast and making clicking sounds.

That combination would be a 60p clip with pulldown.

Barry,

That is exactly what I wanted and what the director and producer asked for!

Why do you think that log and transfer is creating sound sync issues? It plays back perfectly in the preview window but seems to be playing back at a greater speed when imported to FCP.

I am sort of crapping my pants because this is footage mission critical to a high paying job. :(

I'm the wrong one to ask -- I hate the FCP log & transfer nonsense. I say ditch it and get Raylight and watch all your problems disappear.

I just had this same problem, anyone discover a fix yet? Couldn't see any on the boards anywhere so I thought I'd bump this post and see if anyone else has encountered it. There has to be a solution without paying for raylight.

Could it be a timeline setup issue? Perhaps your timeline doesn't match with 60p.
