is it possible to export my AE graphics work (lower thirds, muzzle flashes, blood squirts, etc) with a transparent background into FCP over my footage? if so then what is the exporting process?

You should be able to just export an image sequence (TIFF or Targa) from AE and bring that into FCP as footage. I've never used FCP (I'm on PC), but that's the way every NLE should work...
