It was an expensive rental, but I felt I really needed the increased lattitude.

Wow--powerful stuff. Good job on the grading--you really got a rich deep black I don't often see. Unfortunately the subject matter is a little...graphic...for DVXFest, so I'm going to have to DQ your film.

actually, i was on the second camera unit for this film, people say that JDS and I have opposite yet complimentary styles. That being said ... that a-hole didn't use any of my footage ... here are some screen caps.

I had enough continuity problems with the footage I shot because I shot outdoors at all different times of day ... but yours just wouldn't cut in.

Jay ... as for settings, remember I shot on the RedONE and there are no settings for that camera. You capture clean and then change in post.

Any chance we can see the raw 4k grabs, Jack? At least one or two? It's hard to tell from those as they are so small and a bit compressed (albeit still amazing quality). I'm anxious to see what someone of your caliber can do with the RED, so I'd really like to see some raw grabs...

Personally, I think JDS has done a great job of taking that original visual style and making it his own.

Funny, I was just thining to myself that in a year or so someone was going to stumble across this thread using the search function and wonder what they were missing because all the grabs were black...thinking the pictures didn't load.
