I mean, you can take the theme of darkness a long way. It's pretty broad. Anything with a death can be considered darkness, I can film only at night, You can have a 'dark comedy.' etc etc.

So what genres have most of you guys used?

well they said it should "creep you out"
people die in damas and comedies all the time and it doesn't creep me out

even if you hold it to just "dark" and drop the creep out factor ... there's lots of crime dramas and dramas where people die that aren't "dark"

Mine is dark visually, and the subject matter is also very dark!

Homeless people creep some people out.
Bugs creep some people out.
Fat people wearing tight clothes creep some people out.
Unibrows creep some people out.

I went with the theme (Darkness) and the fact that this wasn't another Horror Fest.

When I think of Ray Bradbury Theater, I think of episodes that could fit in this festival.

But that's just me....

In the end, I'm still looking forward to seeing some blood curdling shorts. ;)

Damn! That's dark.

BTW, I watched Rekindled. Very nice work... loved the opening.

Cheers,

Mine's so dark it's not even going to be shown in Hallows Fest for the safety of mankind. It's also banned in 48 states, and contains scenes so shockingly dark, a black hole will open up on your monitor and begin unfolding the fabric of the universe if you try and watch it.

Also....I didn't get it finished in time. But that's beside the point. Sucker's DARK! :)

It's already been seen in 48 other states and banned? I guess that means you're DQ'd anyway.

I think it's the release of all the stress that's built up over the past couple months. Although, for me it's still stressful, cause I have to get my house ready for my party tomorrow. Which means a night of cleaning, decorating, and arguing with the wife. :)

Oh, and P.S. it's up to 49 states now. It's so dark at this point, it's illegal for me to edit it in my own home. Muwahahahaha!

Not, necessarily. I've seen several instances where films are banned by people that never even saw them.

I've been banned from a lot of place based on the spelling my name alone.
