component out question?

in HD modes on the HVX is the component out a real HD signal?

in otherwords what would happen if you tried to monitor with a regular sony CRT using the component cable output?

If you have it set to output HD, the Sony standard-def TV won't show anything, it won't recognize the signal at all.

If you tell the HVX to downconvert its component output to 480/60i, then the Sony would show it (but as standard-def, because that's all the monitor can handle).

Yes the HVX's component output is real HD.
