Ring Around The World

Its probably easy but im not sure how to get it done
Basically the old "ring around the world" ala "universal movie intro"
What i have to see is the world rotating (that is no problem) but then
a ring of text appearing and revolving around in the opposite direction!
Please advice!

oh... if i can do it only in AE much better, rather not get into max3D etc is possible!

you coule apply a warp effect to the text, to get it bendy, and in shape with the earth's circle

try Zaxworks 3D Invigorator

anything you do in AE without Z3dI wont look 3D or anywhere similar to the universal logo text. Rendering this in 3d (max, maya etc) is actually pretty elementary.

Faking it in AE would take forever and look bad.

i just used the 3D around circle text preset, masked it out when behind planet, changed settings and i got what i wanted. Took about 30 minutes. It looks good enough for what i needed!
