yeah? why is that? were you given some indication from Letus that you wont be receiving it by then?
Keep in mind there were changes made and the rail mount addition too
no i am aware of these changes. and i love that they are taking the time necessary to add these beautiful additions. I just dont want ti to turn into what the guerilla 35 did. People were on waiting lists forever lol.
I expect when it arrives, it will blow my socks off. For now im trying to rally up some lenses. Cant wait.

Got my letus economy in the mail today. Just connected it to the camera using a 82_>72m step ring, got the lens (nikon 50mm 1.8) snapped on to the mount , fidgeted with getting the batteries into the battery pack and then I was away. Overall I'd say it took me about 10 mins to get the adapter connected and shooting.. I'm quite happy with this because the 2nd time I do it will take me like 2mins to do
Now.. I'm completely new to the adapter business.. COMPLETELY NEW.. So please correct me if this sounds wrong..
Turned the adapter on.. and then the camera.. and looked thru the lcd.. and there seems to be what appears to be a "funnel" and at the center of the funnel taking about 1/4 of the lcd is the actual image I was shooting (Iris was fully open and I was completely zoomed out) Initially I was a bit suprised but then I remembered reading that you do need to zoom into the image being projected in from the adapter.. But I didnt realise I had to zoom in SO much.. the image was tiny! Does this sound right?
Anyway I zoomed in, made sure the image took up the full lcd (again had to zoom in a fair bit to do this.. does this sound right to you guys?) and then tinkered around with focusing, pulling focus etc.
Overall If I'm doing stuff right, I like what I see. First the Economy looks like solid piece of work. Secondly the light loss from the image isn't too bad at all. With the 1.8 lense on, it looks like I've lost a bit over a stop worth of light.. and thats ok by me..
Now I've got a 24mm lense I want to try on.. and I've come to my first show stopping problem.. I cant seem to remove the 50mm lense I have attached to the adapter! DOH! Again like I said I'm a noob at this.. There seems to be a knob/screw/pin where the lense is connected to adapter... I think thats what I have to screw with to get the lense off (any advice or help would really be appreciated!).
Anyway reading this account, if you see anything that doesnt sound right please let me know.. Again I'm really new to this so what might seem right to me might be completely wrong.
I wish adapterplace.com or letusdirect.com had a printable set of instructions on how to do everything with the adapter.. would really make it less intimidating for a newbie on their first go..

are you using a Nikon lens?
If so, you have to push the pin towards the camera and turn the lens at the same time. It is a locking pin for your lens, so that the lens doesn't fall off
BTW can you take a picture of the Economy on the other side where the battery is? I like to see that side of the Economy , I like to see if there are any wires sticking out. and is the battery pod stick to the side with velcro or is it mount down.?

Jigga, it seems that you're doing fine by yourself. Letus has a website dedicated to its adapters: www.letusdirect.com (http://www.letusdirect.com) They have a forum, a library, shootages, and otehr goodies. It's specifically designed for the letus users, primarily the Extreme in anticipation of the feedback from the Letus Extreme Users community, even before the product hits the streets.
Sounds like I'm advertising for them.
Anyway, from the Library, here's a link for basic "How To" mount the adapters/lenses (initial set up): http://www.letusdirect.com/letus35-initial-setup.html

I've had the Letus Economy for a few days now. The batteries and wires are the same as with the Letus FE. Nothing has changed there. The image and light loss statements are true though. This is a remarkable tool. I can't compare what I'm seeing through my camera with the people posting A1 footage or whatever because I use the dvx but it seems like the Economy and Extreme appear very similar quality wise. Not build though.

So you mean the wire goes all the way to the front near the mount? Could you be so kind to upload a picture if you have time.

It looks exactly like the FE (FYI, this is the FE, not the Economy in this pic):

It's the same as the FE. The wire runs from the battery compartment which is attached via velcro to the side to the middle, I think. Now I'm doubting myself. I'll just post pics later tonight after work!

Thanks for the info. Humm... I think I'm going with the Extreme. I am always very clumsy with wires. I know that over time I'm going to somehow wank it apart especially when I need to change the batteries all the time.

Thanks for that info. I can get the nikon lense (I have the nikon locking mount not the swapable one) attached no problems. What I can't do is REMOVE the lense from the mount. Do I push the Pin away from the adapter? Pull it upwards? Unscrew it counter or clock wise? Because I can't seem to get it to budge and my lense remains firmly attached to the adapter. I'm worried about damaging the adapter and lense if I use any more force..
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Its the only thing really holding me back from my economy experience. I wanna use my 24mm lense dammit!!
and tibobjerome, thanks for the links. Very helpful.
**EDIT** Got the lense removed. Slept on it. dreamt how to remove it and woke up in the morning and removed it. So I credit my dreams! Just kidding DAvid and tibob, thanks for the help again. Now I'm a fully functioning letus economy user.. in a way.
