Battery life - P2 vs. miniDV

I am considering buying an HVX200, and one thing I was curious about before deciding between shooting P2 or miniDV is the battery life. Does the battery life differ much between the 2? Is it extended using P2 (without moving parts)?

Yes. Running the P2 cards the battery last a lot longer. I would say almost twice as long but I have not really done an exact test.
