I recently bought a pv-dv952 from ebay i was wondering is there a way to set the standby to off where it never turns off like our dvx can do?

i used to work with the pal version (mx500), i don't think you can stop this from happening. the worst is how you have to re-white balance after it happens.
a lot of the time we ended up just leaving the camera running, but that just makes sorting out the footage a bigger job. zooming in and out every now and then keeps it on sometimes, but even then it still turns itself off when you don't expect it.
if i were you i'd just use the indoor and outdoor WB presets, gives you more consistent results anyway.

well you see the reason i wanted it on was cuz i was shooting wrestling with a 2 cam shoot but both were tied to a switcher and mixed to tape no probs with my 80 cuz its always on but the only way to keep my 952 going was to run a tape but of course the tape would run out at the wrong time.
