This is driving me crazy. I'm using AE CS3. What's happening here, I have no idea.

The only clue is that right after the first time it happened, AE said it was out of memory (how this happend I have no idea - I have 3 gigs of memory and no other running programs). So I restarted and started the program back up. It's still happening - specifically when I try and zoom in on the timeline to try and find an exact frame.

The quicktime file I'm working on is big (24.1 gigs), but I'm fairly sure After Effects can work on files bigger than that, right?

Is this happening on your computer monitor? I would try turning OpenGL off in AE's pref's and see if that fixes it. Or Interrupt Footage and see if something's out of whack, but if it's happening in comp window on you monitor, I don't know of anything in there that would cause it to tile...but, I could be wrong.

if this is happening in the program and not on your monitor, you may be mirroring edges, or not mirroring but repeating, i forget the term for the effect.
