Hey guys,
I thought I'd throw this one out there, just to see if anyone had a better suggestion for me. I have a shot for my feature film, it has to be done by next Saturday, the 20th, for our premier. I got a phone call from my CG guy today who had been using a 3d program to do the shot. He's not going to have time to get it done. So, since I know a think or two about after effects, i thought I'd attempt to get it done. Here's the shot:
The character falls through the sky, down the side of a building. The camera view is essentially a camera dropping straight down the side of the building, with a character flying head on at the camera.
We shot a green screen shot of the actor laying on his stomach on a table. My game plan to achieve this shot, is to take a still frame of the side of the building, bring it into photoshop, and build a very tall image file using layers of the same several floors of the building. Then I'll pull this image into after effects, use a camera, tilted to make the image of the building appear at an angle, and run the camera down the side of the building, compositing the actor in front of it. Should look like he's falling down the side of the building. I think it'll work o.k.
The reason I posted this topic, is because if anyone has ANY better ideas for me as to how to achieve this shot, I would be very very very open to suggestions. I wasn't planning on having to do this, along with everything else I need to get done for the premier, so I'm kind of crunched for time. But I know there are alot of people on here with some interesting takes on problems, and if there is a better solution out there, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks guys,
-Steve
