I have a Zacuto Baseplate. I want to put my money down on a LE but unless there's a solid solution for mounting it to rods, I'll hold off. Any ideas.

The Extreme as of now will ship with a support that will work with your rods. The early orders will have it included for free. Click on link for details.

Tim are you selling your SGpro? Or just trying out the Letus as well?

I think I may keep both, as the SG PRO is awesome for high shutter speed and high aperture work. You have to make an effort to see any ground glass artifacts. The 1/2 stop on the LE is without a lens on, which is in the neighborhood of my SG. Regarding the flip, the lack of one doesn't bother me because most of the work I do I use an onboard monitor as well as a full size. I just can't rely on the HVX's lcd for critical focus.
But I do see the need for those times where I just can't take a monitor and I need to do things more run and gun. This where the LE will be irreplaceable. Also, I feel I need to have a back up unit, after I did something really stupid and had to send in my SG for repair. Being without for a week cost me.
But if the LE eclipses my SG in the main areas: pic, grain, focus, fall off, light loss, etc. then you can count on me selling it. I'll do the regular A/B testing, but something tells me that the SG pic quality may still come out on top.

Very very interesting input. A fair set of observations.
Tell us all what you think when you compare the two.

Tim,
How do you like your Zacuto baseplate? I love mine. High quality products if I've ever seen some. I'll be posting a review on here and my blog in a few days.

Their baseplate has no equal in terms of build quality, ease of use and performance. You'll own it for a long time. No shims no shake. Worth every penny. I think some of their other bracketry may be overpriced, but if you can afford their stuff, don't hesitate. If the 35mm adaptor makers had their quality..... we hope and dream. Their baseplate is really in a different league than all of the competition. I've owned two of the adaptor makers plates and one was garbage (bad machining, rods that wouldn't fit a 15mm hole, etc) so I sent it back, the other, my SG (came with adaptor) is a cool design, light and loads of places to mount stuff. But since I have a Zacuto which is simpler and easier to adjust, I've butchered the many cool parts from my SG plate system and us the various brackets to mount things (you wouldn't believe the number of 1/4" and 3/8" holes Wayne put into this thing.) I basically got three excellent mounting brackets out the deal.

If the 35mm Adapter makers had their quality we would be paying the same as a P+S Tech adapter.

well thats why the P&S is like 12,000$

Yes. But P&S Technik does have that skater which is pretty awesome for product shots and what not

Don't think excellent quality would take a product to PS technik prices. Zacuto plate is 600 or so, which is a great deal for what it does. Lot of people would pay 2 grand for an adaptor that has a big step up in build quality and all metal, etc.

For some reason, I don't think Zacuto's tag on an adapter would be anywhere near two-thousand dollars. Even the so-called "higher-end" brands are still four-thousand plus. See: Movietube Jr.
