Everything was going smoothly, we're dumping P2 cards after every setup, to make sure there are no problems etc.

On the last two setups of the day, two clips on different p2 cards were messed up. We only had one in the camera at a time, one was an 8 gb, the other was a 16gb.

Neither imported to their original durations.. one plays as if it was undercranked, the other is jittery and stutters.. like it's playing back at 12fps. Unexplainable.

I've tried importing using P2CMS and FCP 5.1.4. The clips play back fine in camera and in the respective P2 viewers of the applications.

We're shooting HVX200, 2 16gb, 2 8gb. Importing on Powerbook G4 to FCP 5.1.4.

any help or suggestions would be invaluable.

thanks.

Have you copy protected the card before insert it to copy to the desktop?

This happened to me - using FCP 5.x as well. My producer had FCP 6 and had better luck importing the few clips that had this issue. I could tell there was a problem witha clip when I got the half circle in the import p2 window.

Can anyone explain why so long after the HVX200's release there are still so many issues with FCP and importing p2 files?

I occasionally get weird framerate playback when using the P2 viewer. A restart is usually all it takes for things to get back to normal.
I don't think Panasonic hires the top of the graduating class of programmers.

I think the OP is referring to the modal import box of FCP, not the p2 viewer.

Yeah, I just brought it up because of the similar problem. Today it played back at standard frame rate but audio played back about double speed!
