Looks like a modified Cavision shouldermount? - can I get more details on it, plus your monitor mount?

Looks good marc.
The 24mm still looked like the edges might be a bit soft - not sure if that's just me, its hard to tell with the handheld stuff...

Nice rig too by the way!

By the way - what was the music?
Nice piece on the 24mm vid.

thanks y'all!

Well the song in the 24mm clip is "Avril 14th" by Aphex Twin!

It's a cavision shouldermount, yep. I am still waiting for my Beyerdynamic shotgun mic and Redrock Micro Mattebox to arrive... argh!

Oh and yes, it's a 7" Marshall HD LCD!

Are thos Cavision grips? They look different (better) than the normal ones.

MarcMalkowski

Yep those are Cavision grips. The extended ones!

You've got a nice setup. I'm jealous! Would be better with the matte box, though.

how long before the arms get tired :)

taormina
10-08-2007, 05:23 PM
Did you extend them or did they come that way?

MarcMalkowski
10-08-2007, 06:16 PM
they came that way!

Well I can operate the rig for about 30 minutes before the arms get tired :)

But I am thinking about getting an ENG rig pro from dvtec as a support!

What are you using to mount the Marshall to the Cavision?

What are you using to mount the Marshall to the Cavision?

Good question I really want to know also.

The Marshall is mounted to the 15mm rods with the following setup:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5160-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_2909_2909_Super_Clamp_with.html
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5350-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_3094_Double_End_Stud.html (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5169-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_2918_2918_Standard_Stud_for.html)
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5157-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_2906_2906_Extension_Arm_with.html
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/272987-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_484_484_Mini_Ball_Head.html

It's the most rigid and solid solution I could come up with so far... the UltraLight Arm and an Israeli just made the Marshall shake around like crazy...

Servus Marc, sehr schönes Setup.

How do you power the Marshall. On the Fotos it looks a bit frontheavy, and you got a battery on the backside. Which battery is that, how long does it run the Marshall?

Those FD's perform nicely for you.

Man, we're all putting our HVX's on steroids. I shoot with an XDCam regularly but our HVX's are outweighing the ENG cameras at this point.

Hi Alpi,
it's a regular 12V lead-gel battery... the marshall runs about...two - three hours with it.

Here's another picture:

Don't you have the camera on the wrong shoulder in the top pic? I'm left handed and even I can't use my camera like that! Nice rig though!

MarcMalkowski

Well on the top pic I shot myself in a mirror...

I can really handle it well...
