I own the DVX and my partner has the XL2. What problems will we run into considering we are using different tape & cameras. I think the XL2 also has 24p which I think should help a lot. We will be shooting short 10-15 min films. Will editing be a problem?

Thanks

Different tape? Shouldn't they both be miniDV?
I did a wedding once with a DVX, a GL2 and an XL1. Turned out ok. DVX footage turned out a little sharper than the rest. Do manual white balance, of course.

As ProU mentioned, manual balance on the same card/same light source.

I've found that the XL2 comes out more desaturated, but it could've been the internal settings. Both on 24p look good. I shot a short a few years back with the two and it needed a slight tweak in post, but was fine. I think the XL2 is 16:9 native, and the dvx is electronically squeezed, so keep that in mind.
