More of the same kind of setup with the softbox and 3 x 250w spots this time...

Softbox is 1000w and I used it for the main key light to the right of the subject.
250w Lowel Prolight high and to the back right of subject for rim light
250w lowel Prolight to the left as a fill light set to flood
250w Lowel Prolight near the fill light directed at the table for additional kick.

Practicals were also on for ambience although for this set up they didn't really make an impact to the general exposure. The room I shot in is pretty huge but I was trying to go for some intimate atmosphere.

Lenses uses were my 3 favs...
Nikon 50mm f1.8
Nikon 28mm f2.8
Nikon 100mm f2.8

Mostly full open on the Nikon lenses and made incremental adjustments on the Canon...I don't remember the settings, sorry. This will be the last of the tests for now. I have a life to get back to :)

Shot with Academy FOV and matted in post to Cinemascope

In one of the shots, I cut it where I was finding focus but didn't have time to edit it out so just ignore that.

as usual.. very nice ( just wish we had an HVX nut posting up some hotness :D )

Also, super glad they are moving the red light to the rear cuz I see it reflected in 2 of those shots (and itd look ugly with black gaffer tape on it )

Same subject, but again outstanding example footage.

I'm with Look 1st in saying that we need more HVX footage!

This is looking really good, though.

could you tell me if the hot spot on your dauhters hair is due to a direct hard light source to close?otherwise this adapter looks like it can see in the dark.

This is one of my first posts in here, and I have been following the Letus extreme debate closely ever since I discovered it a week ago. I have the DVX100 (orig. version) and the M2 - but the Extreme/A1 look amazing:) Absolutely no comparison. Wonderful colours, no vignetting, sharp as hell compared to my very soft M2. I'm also really impressed with the XHA1. This combo looks almost as good as footage I've seen from RED!! I'm also very interested in some more footage from HVX, but I must admit - I have some hot fantasies of the new Sony XDCAM EX1 with the Letus Extreme - this package could rock, hence the better low light capabilities of the EX1.

XH-A1 and this combo do look really well which worries the stuffing out of me. I need to get my LetusEX and do some testing with the HVX. =(

is it just me or does the canon a1 and letus extreme look like the sharper of all the other camera and adapter combos?

Not really. I mean the footage looks great, but to say it looks sharper than any other adapter/camera combo is a stretch. Especially with no side by side, and failing to take into consideration the operator in this case Disjecta. One things for sure i've seen bad footage from all of the adapters except for the Extreme. I've created bad footage with quite a few lol.

I'm starting my feature in one week (with the HVX and trust me, if I get the Letus Extreme in time <ordered 10.24> I will post footage).

This is the nicest looking footage I've seen yet from all the Extreme tests on this forum, but along with cinebuddy i would caution people on the forum to be a little more circumspect in announcing that this is the sharpest - fastest - best - adapter out there.

Most people have been comparing it to the Redrock which is probably the softest and slowest of the "big four."

No one has shot side by sides against the Brevis and the SGPro which are very good looking adapters. The Brevis seems to me to be similar in terms of light loss, is very sharp and is also coming out with a flip very soon. So exactly how they compare in terms of speed, sharpness at both Academy and full SLR frames, grain, bokeh and a host of other factors is still an open question.

This sequence certainly looks pretty, and it is at very liveable light levels for indies. Its certainly not "low-light" though. We're talking nearly 2000 Watts on that shot. But it didn't need a truck either which is the important part.
