I've been able to start editing but I've run into a minor problem which I'm hoping is a simple fix. When I make an edit and it shows up in the canvas, there is a slight difference in the amount of black on the right and left when compared to the previous clip. Is there a setting I'm leaving out so this doesn't happen and all the edits in the canvas have the exact amount of black on the right/left/top/bottom??

Is this because I captured the footage in anamorphic??

What was the footage shot as?

it was shot at 480i 24p. When I click on the motion tab in the viewer window and center both points at 0 everything is perfectly aligned from viewer to canvas but I shouldn't have to center EVERY clip, right? Is there a setting that I'm missing that centers each clip?

Your footage is not anamorphic (16:9) so why are you using an anamorphic project?

There should be no bars on any side of the image and everything should be centered without input from you.

oh yes. I forgot to mention that. It was shot "stretched." That is anamorphic, no?

Here are two photos so you can see how the first one in the canvas is perfectly centered and the second one, there is a bit of black on the left. If I center it manually in the motion tab it centers no problem...but i don't think I should have to do that, right?
