hi, this is going to get an easy answer but I'm stuck:

I have very little room left on my computers HD, and I bought another external HD to save a new short film project on...

I started the project on my original HD - it's saved in my documents.

but I want to now save it to my external drive and then delete the original from the documents to free up some disk space.

...my question is : can I "save project as..." to my new external HD then delete the old one on my computer without causing any problems? (Like lost files not found or whatever)

afterall the new saved project would be an exact copy, right? so FCP won't ask for the version that was once in "my documents" ?

thanks for the help.
I'm just worried because I've had problems in the past with lost files and such ex: "file untitles00000102" not found, cannot open project" type stuff.

Move everything in your capture scratch over first- the project itself is tiny. All of your media is in the capture scratch folder.

yeah...get everything in the FINAL CUT PRO DOCUMENTS folder in your DOCUMENTS folder. Audio Render, Capture Scratch, Render...everything. THAT is what is taking up space...NOT the project file. Leave the project file on your internal.
