Did a shoot with the Panasonic HVX200. Production audio was sent to a mixing board and hard disk recorder separate from the camera.
Here's the issue. I have four mono tracks of audio that the camera recorded on each take. I also have four mono tracks of audio with each take on the hard disk. I know how to sync the audio and video and make a merged clip in Final Cut. My issue is that when I do so, I get EIGHT mono tracks, four of which (mono a3, a4, a7, and a8) are totally silent anyway, two of which (a1 and a2) are from the camera and which I can't use. So I ONLY want a6 and a7.
If I try to put the footage into the timeline and delete all the unnecessary tracks, I get only mono a1-a4, none of which is useful to me. Is there any way to discard these audio tracks from the files -- or at least from Final Cut's interpretation of the files -- from the bin, or do I have to recompress all the merged files to make them work?
