If I only had the option to get the Barry Green HVX Book or the 2 disc Bootcamp DVD's, which one should I get. I have 30-40 hours experience with the HVX so im not a beginner, I am looking for help with advanced techniques and looks (scene settings).

get the videos as barry talks faster than most people read a lot of information is disseminated in a short period of time and i found it easier to see the demo of how something worked rather than read about it

Well - I'd say no matter which one you get, you should seriously consider getting the other as soon as you have the money.
That said - I would go for the DVDs.
They are really fantastic.

If choosing between the two, I would say the book without a doubt. It's size and ringbound format mean it's a perfect reference manual that can taken on shoots with you. As Luis said though, if you can, get them both. They are both excellent companions to the HVX.

I would get both, although the book is more exhaustive

and you can reference the book on location if need be. I'd feel silly asking for a dvd player at a shoot so I can watch that one part again... But like Luis said - get both ASAP.

Alright - after reading everyone's comments I have to say, they've got a good point....
While I still find the DVDs more bang for the buck (in my opinion) - the book might be more convenient and practical for its use on set. I have mine in my camera case with my HVX, and I've flipped through it on more than one occassion while shooting.
So, go with the book for now - but the DVDs are really indispensible, and personally I find it easier to absorb this type of information in a video format than in a book.
So, yet again, I'd say get them both as soon as you can afford it.

I went with the book based on replies in this thread. Seems like a good idea to be able to keep it in my bag with the rest of my gear. So thanks guys.
