Hey, I've got a weird problem with DVD studio 4.0.3 that I've never encountered before.

I've just exported my video in Compressor and I've imported the video and audio files into DVD Studio, but when I put the files into the track timeline, there is no video - the little thumbnail window on the video track is empty and no video plays in the viewer.

However, when I open the very same video file with Quicktime, there is clearly video. So, the file is fine - but DVD Studio is not recognizing it for some reason.

I exported with the Best DVD 90 minute 4:3 setting in Compressor.

I just want to get this F@#*ing project finished!

Try opening the video TS folder through the Apple dvd player. See if that works, if it doesn't then it's a problem with dvdsp. May want to try to encode a short segment again and lower the maximum bit rate.

Make sure you don't have the multiplexed audio button checked in the extras tab of your MPEG-2 encode in Compressor. MPEG-2 and AC3 need to be left separate for best results in DVDSP.

I encountered this problem after re-exporting and re-compressing everything following additional edits in FCP using the orginal filenames (and thus overwriting them). Perhaps DVSP finds something somewhere that it can't relate to the new files -- maybe in the parsing folder. At any rate, erasing all the old .m2v files and the parsing folder before re-encoding via Compressor seemed to fix the problem -- DVSP recognized and played the new files. Hope this sheds some light.

Thanks all.

Yeah, Terry Pell, I ended up re-exporting the video file with a new name and it worked fine (two hours later). I've never had this problem before, but I'm glad I was finally able to get the damn thing done!
