Video noise

It seems that my HVX has more video noise in dark spots then it had couple of days before, can that be connected to the fact that yesterday it received some electricity trough the AV cable that was connected to TV? Nothing strong, just enough to feel it under my fingers when holding it for a handle.
Please answer if you have a clue about this, just so I can sleep better.

Did you hit your gain switch and not notice? I've done it. (That's why I have H,M,L all set to 0-dB.
