Hi everyone,
I know in livetype you can export and animation and bring it into fcp as transparent just place it over the footage. But i am trying to bring in some "arrow" animation into fcp but its not transparent
I am also not having much luck by sending sequence or part of it to motion
any ideas

At the bottom of the project properties is a popup for the
background. Set it to transparent.
We need more details on your other problem.

Are you exporting like a Quicktime movie from Live Type and then bringing that into FCP? If so, skip that and just import the Live Type file itself. In Live Type just use File | Save and then import that file into FCP and edit with that. Cool thing to when you do that is if you have Live Type open and that file open, you can edit it and see the changes occur live in FCP.
As for going into Motion, you need to be more specific. What version of Final Cut are you using? Step by step how are you trying to take the materials to Motion? What specifically is the problem you are experiencing (error messages, Motion crashes, FCP crashes, etc.)?
Cheers.

Sorry about the delay.
I wasn't clear enough in my last post.
Under the 'edit' menu, select 'Project Properties'.
At the bottom is the 'Background' popup menu.
The choices are 'transparent' or 'solid'
