Hi there. I'm doing an actress demo reel and she gave me a bunch of DVDs that I need to get footage off of.
I usually use handbrake to get the footage off of the DVDs, but every which way I try to bring that into FCP it tells me the codec is not recognized.
Anyone know how to get around this? is there a format or program that would do this better?
Thanks!

Might want to try Cinematize (http://www.miraizon.com/products/products.html), it's always worked for me.

I usually just copy the VOBs from the DVD to my HD and drag them into the timeline. Works fine, except for some reason it doesn't bring in any audio with it. But the funny thing is that Premiere will import the audio fine but will watermark the video with the mainconcept logo... So if I need audio with it, I'll import the VOB into Premiere and save the audio as a wav. Bit roundabout but it works.

MPEG STREAMCLIP. Converts DVDs into DV/NTSC or any variety of QT formats.
Brings audio over too...so no workaround.
