im getting there but still have some questions.

as far as capturing when the footage is shot on normal 24p then only use the
DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) option correct?

then for 24pa use DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) Advanced Pulldown Removal, yes?

so when that is done what sequence/time line option do i use 23.98 or 24?

also once the footage is captured using the 24p method in fcp do i still need to use cinema tools to and use the rev telcline? i cant help but feel like im almost answering my own questions but i need the asurance.

Read the forum faq. 24p normal is captured with the DV/NTSC settings. Then you can remove the pulldown manually in CinemaTools if you want to cut at 23.98 otherwise you cut at 29.97.

24pA is with the 24p advanced easy setup and you cut at 23.98. At no time ever do you capture or cut with a frame rate of exactly 24. I go over all of this with nice animations and detailed explanations in my DVD (http://www.callboxlive.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=28) btw.
