Yeah, you guessed it.
A firestore got formatted before it got backed up. It was not organized before the format. and after the format, nothing was touched. nothing shot on it or anything. is there any sort of "unformat" options here?
or is this just a lost cause?

yes you need to goto a recovery company to get that back... but let me warn you now, big bux buddy... thats the only way.

since you can mount the FS to your computer like any other drive, I would try some of the lower cost recovery tools out there that are available for corrupted hard drives.
Don't know if it would work though so it's a crapshoot.

You could try some Norton Utilities, I am not sure if it will do any good, you may end up corrupting the data. I agree with andypaintguns, you will have to take the drive to a recovery place. It would cost you $2k ++
I am in IT, it happened to one of our employees, and we had to send the drive to a recovery place. When you get the data back, it may require a lot of work to get it synced. Good luck.
