So, I've seen such words as:
Overcranking
Undercranking
Overclocking
used alot of these boards. I've only had my hvx for around a month and see no reference to these terms in either the manual nor the bootcamp dvds (No, I don't have my Barry Green book yet).
Anyone want to help out a little? Link to a helpful article or two?
Thanks.

Overcranking: more than 24fps (slow motion)
Undercranking: less than 24fps (fast motion)
Comes from the days when you actually had to turn the crank on the camera to record... spinning faster would give you slow-mo, spinning slower would give you fast-mo.
Not sure what overclocking is when referring to the HVX... ??

Overclocking is a term that you see more often in regards to pumping processor speeds, especially in video/graphics cards, but thats not exactly 100% relevant to the HVX, so I'm curious as well what you mean by that.

You can find answers to stuff like that really easily using Google.
But yeah, I thought overclocking was RE computer speeds, as ^^ did, so not sure if that's directly relevant to the HVX...
Over/Under cranking is also not exclusively faster/slower than 24fps - If I'm shooting at 25fps (PAL) and shoot at 24 fps, that's undercranking (although, not by much!) - same goes for 30fps (NTSC).
It's just changing the rate at which you capture frames relative to the playback speed. Capturing more frames per second than you will be playing is overcranking, and capturing less frames per second than you will be playing is undercranking.

Okay, thanks everyone. Yeah, I know what overclocking is in regards to a Pc. I'll try to find that thread.
