Separate clip capture

Probably been asked before but I don't know what's the real name for it.

Basically, I want to import my footage in FCP clip by clip. By that I mean, I want FCP to recognize where I pushed ''stop'' on my camcorder and create a new clip each time I do this.

My friend who works with Vegas is able to do that and I want to do it with FCP.

Anyone knows how to do this in FCP ?

You can do it manually by logging and batch capturing with the log and capture tool. Or capture whole tapes with DV Start/Stop detection activated.
