I just bought an 8GB P2 Card and Duel Systems Adapter off Ebay.

I'm trying to figure out how to offload the P2 Card onto my MacBook Pro. I've taken some short test footage with the HVX but cannot figure out how to offload the card yet.

Can anybody please tell how to offload the card so I can start editing with Final Cut Pro.

Thanks.

If I were a bad guy, I'd say RTFM but I'm not... ;-)

In FCP (latest), go to Log & Transfer, then add you card to the list of sources and import the footage in your current project.

Prior to that, you can copy the entire card from the Finder to a new folder in an internal or external HD and open this copied source.

Hope this helps,
Laurent

Are you trying to copy the card, mount the card, or what?

Is it the .MXF File that I am importing into FCP? I am using FCP5 by the way.

You have to have FC 5.4.1 to view P2 footage. You also need to go to the Duel Adapter site and download their latest drivers, and to Panasonic's P2 site and download their latest drivers. It's all free, but it takes some time and patience. My computer kept crashing each time I inserted the duel adapter with a P2 card installed. Once it is in and you can view, and you are finished, make sure you eject the adapter as you would a hard drive. Hope it helps, Matt.

FCP 5.1.4, not 5.4.1.

Any version from 5.0.4 on will work to some extent, but 5.1.4 is the least troublesome.

Hi,

what about the 6.0.1. version...how does it handle the duel adapter...sincer I already owe final cut studio 2...

FCP 6.0.1 handles mounted p2 cards the same as 5.1.4, except the file utility is called Log and Transfer instead of Log and Capture.

In fact, FCP doesn't distinguish any mounted p2 card, duel adapter or firewire mode with the cam.
