Connect Soundboard to GL2

Hi Everyone,

I record stage events with Canon GL2, is it possible to record the sound from soundboard? I don't want to use GL2's attached microphone, because it doesn't sound good in the video.

Talk to the tech and ask them for a mini-plug to XLR cable and simply plug it into the GL2. I do this all the time using a cheap camcorder so it should work just fine for the GL2.

Make sure they know you need stereo mini, though, otherwise with a mono plug you may only get sound on one channel. And make sure they know you need mic level, not line level. :)

If you do this sort of thing a lot, you might look at something like the Beachtek DXA-4P, which lets you use XLR connections, either mono or stereo, and either mic or line level. For me, it's saved a lot of hassle with that stupid 1/8" jack...
