We're making our first feature film! The project is an action/thriller entitled "A Lonely Place For Dying".
We'd love to hire some DVXUsers for the project. In particular, we need:
1.) A "digital effects/compositor" jack-of-all-trades. We'll be doing sky replacement throughout the film (because more than likely the sky will be a brilliant-blue clear sky throughout the film...and that is quite boring), we'll be doing muzzle flashes, blood effects, debris effects, etc.
2.) Someone who can author the DVD and website who has a strong sense of style. Much of this material will be based on the theatrical posters I'll be creating, but we still want someone who has a strong, developed sense of aesthetics.
3.) An on-set/traditional effects guru. I have a strong knowledge of traditional effects, but it would be useful to have someone else focus on that so I can spend more time with the actors.
4.) A fight choreographer. We'll be consulting with professionals in Hollywood for this position as well, but what we want to avoid is Hollywood cliches and going to Hollywood isn't the best way to achieve that! I have a martial arts background and I hate it when I see silly wire-fu inspired fight scenes. I also hate fight sequences in which people carefully exchange blows. In my opinion, the two best fight sequences are (1) the scene in Raiders Of The Lost Ark in which Indiana fights the big, burly Nazi near the Flying Wing. He's totally overwhelmed and has to fight dirty to win. (2) the scene between John Cusack and an assassin in Gross Pointe Blanke. They miss, they hit empty air, the scene feels raw and improvised (which of course it isn't).
We have most of the other positions filled (I'm using most of my crew from Saturday Night Special). However, if anyone has particularly strong skills, please send me a PM with your resume, link to a demo reel and what your rates are.
Every position on this project is a paid position.
