I am the writer/director for a documentary we are producing titled, BEST WORST MOVIE. Briefly, the documentary is about the recent underground popularity of an awful (so bad it's good) B-horror film made 17 years ago -called Troll 2. This Friday Sept 7th, Sunshine Cinema is planning a special Troll 2 cast-member screening. We are looking for a DVX Camera Op (ideally with an on-camera light, and wireless lav's) and possibly a camera-side producer to help interact with the crowd cover the event. We will need to be ready to go by 11pm to film pre-show / fans as they arrive. The movie will screen at 12:00 am. There will be a Q&A and autograph signing after the movie. The evening will go quite late and we will probably wrap up at around 2:30 am. We are on a budget, however, this is a PAID GIG. And...It's going to be a lot of fun!
I am also an experienced shooter/producer but I will not be able to cover this event as I will be making an appearance. I am the star of Troll 2 and will be appearing with a few other cast members that evening.
The camera op that we decide to work with must be outgoing and willing to elicit conversation with fans attending the event.
We have appeared at several of these screenings throughout the country (NYC, Houston, Austin, Seattle, etc) and they have been a complete blast. I would like to talk with who ever we work with in detail to help them understand the gist of the project and our needs.
