This worked out pretty well in SpyFest, so I thought I would give it another shot.

I have written several scripts that are available for dvxuser members to use for All Hallows.

About myself: I'm a graduate from Boston University with a B.S. in Film and Broadcasting. I have interned as a script-reader and as a writer for WSBK in Boston. I wrote numerous scripts for dvxusers for SpyFest, three of which made it into the festival: No Middle Ground (1st place winner!), Robin The Spy, and Spying for Fun and Profit. Currently two All Hallows scripts I’ve written have been claimed for use: ShadowKin by Mike Horrigan, and the other has not yet been announced by the filmmaker. I’m also currently working on several other independent projects.

About you: you want to make a film for All Hallows, but either you can't write, don't want to write, or can't come up with a good idea.

All the scripts are 100% original material and written to conform with All Hallows rules---all have a glass of red wine, are under five pages long to conform to the five minute time limit, and are R rating or below. Sorry, no hard-core pornography.

Additionally, they are written for generic locations and actors that you can get without massive set construction or spending a bundle. For All Hallows, it was difficult to write out special effects completely, but I’ve tried to keep them simple and do-able. You can get as creative with them as you like however.

Here are descriptions of the scripts:
PIG PARTY – NO LONGER AVAILABLE - IN DEVELOPMENT.
ASK THE SPIRITS (http://www.mediamax.com/jlabonney/Hosted/AskTheSpirits.pdf) – Two couples get together on Halloween night and query the spirits. 4 pages. Dramatic. Four characters (2 male, 2 female). Location: hotel room, but could easily be modified.
NO LONGER AVAILABLE – IN DEVELOPMENT.Here’s the deal:
Click on the links above and review the scripts. If you want to make one of them your own, send me a PM, and I’ll confirm with you that the script hasn’t yet been claimed. At that point, it is yours for your exclusive use for All Hallows. In the unlikely event that more than one person wants the same script, the earliest sent PM shall prevail.
You agree to make a good-faith effort to get the entry made and give me screen credit. If you don’t feel like you’ll be able to complete the film, consider passing and letting another member use it.
You may modify the script or any of the elements in it as you please. I’ll help with re-writes if you like, or you can tear it apart yourself.
These scripts are free; any prizes that you might win are yours to keep. I simply want to participate in All Hallows, just like you!Also, if you have a concept you'd like developed into a script, contact me; I'll be happy to give it a try.

Finally, I wanted to say that I am considering my own film for All Hallows, although I haven’t made a final decision yet. I won’t use any of the scripts I’ve offered, however I just wanted to let you know up-front that I might join the competition.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with them!

I've been watching these fests since Sci-Fest, but I've never actually entered. And, since any camera is accepted in terms of source footage, I can finally enter. I was pretty close to entering AdFest, but things kept coming up. Now, you're offering up these awesome "pre-fab" scripts and I'm thinking it might be time for me to actually get up and shoot one. The only problem I have is that the only actors I know are my age (18& 19), so it might be kind of weird to this kind of script with actors who are much younger than the part calls for. I'll see what I can do in terms of gathering up some talent, but I'm very interested in your "Ask the Spirits" script.

Thanks for the comments on the scripts. I agree, it might be difficult to shoot this one with younger actors. What kind of locations might you have available? I might be able to write something that fits what you're working with. I could at least give it a shot.

Well, I was going to make a post about how great John's scripts are for DVXusers and how Whee-Jee is no exception, but seeing as it's now taken, there's no point in me blathering on and on about how cool it is to have a guy like John on the DVXuser boards. And there's certainly no reason for me to comment on how creative the stories and characters invariably are. I won't be mentioning the fact that all John's DVXuser scripts are ingeniously written to be shot in practically any location the filmmaker has available. And I definitely wont be bringing up the fact that , were I to pay obscene amounts money for these scripts, they'd still be the best deal out there!... No, I wont be mentioning any of these things. Because they all go completely unsaid... ;)

Carleton is exaggerating a little bit here, but the scripts I've been writing for dvxuser fests are written to conform to the fest requirements and have actors and locations that are feasible to get. I've had a lot of fun writing them and watching them get created, and appreciate the hard work of the filmmakers that develop them. Can't wait to see how they turn out in All Hallows!

It looks like I wont be able to shoot a project after all, life has gotten in the way and I won't have time to make one. Its too bad too, because this was a neat idea. Hopefuly someone else will use the script. It was very well written, IMHO.
