ok.. here's my DIY dolly system that will go on curved track.. It's made from plywood, aluminum, skate wheels, telescoping pole, flagpole holder, matte black spray paint, and grip tape. Let me know what you guys think.. I still need to shoot with it, but it works very smooth..

Do you have any footage in which the dolly was used? Looks cool, man.

Did you go to a shop for the drill holes? I have tried that angle aluminum approach for a 4 wheel dolly, but it is really hard to drill the exact same distance holes for all the wheels - any issues for you?

actually i was having issues building the wheel system.. I actually broke down and bought them from a great place on ebay.. I wanted the ability to be on curved track.. I bought all four sets of wheels for less then 200 dollars.. It was just one of those things.. Even if I built it myself, all the parts would've cost me the same..

will have footage up soon.. Just finished it yesterday and have a BBQ today

also, i'm especially proud of the connections I found for the PVC pipe at home Depot.. You screw it in once with plyers and it threads the inside of the pipe.. After that you could screw on and off the attachments without any problems..

So, you didn't drill the holes in the L bracket? It was already done, right?

are you talking about the aluminum wheels? That system was ready to go.. I just bought screws and screwed it into my plywood.. this is the auction i won..

Is there another roller-bearing in the wheels/plywood support junction? The wheels seem to be able to rotate around it, allowing using curved rails.

yea.. the wheels have a bearing system in them that allow it to rotate 360 degrees.. I figured if I was going to make it I might as well make it so I could use it on any track..

Can you tell me what size and type are those wheels? I tried to find specs for them at Ebay but there's none.

I actually dont know.. I would email the actual person that made them for me.. I placed the auction that I won in this thread. I'm sure they'd sell you a pair if you requested it.. The stuff is top quality.

Unfortunately buying from the USA is out of the question, or I would go the same way you did. Customs, shiping and all that to Brazil would make it very expensive.

I will have to buy the parts over here and roll my own.

But if you have the e-mail of the person who made yours, perhaps they might tell me the wheel specs.

I know asking this is bothersome, but can you take a ruler and measure diameter & thickness of your wheels? Perhaps the specs are engraved on them.

Thanks!

I'll check but they are just regular skateboard wheels..

Thanks. That information will be invaluable, as even if it seems obvious it's nowhere to be found.
