Exactly what 'someday' said. Can't beat Arriflex with Zeiss lenses for detail. Although it is said that actresses prefer the Panaflex system because it softens the image ever so slightly. It was Arriflex that received the Academy Award for the spinning mirror shutter that pretty much all modern cameras are based on. Nothing between the lens and the film but air. Plus, the earlier Arris are so mechanically based that they can often be fixed in the field. The Panaflex has circuit boards. That's why I bought an old Arri. But I'm sure we will hear from Panavision folks, as well. No doubt that Panavision has the cache´ in Hollywood.

ARRI all the way. The build and structure of their cameras and accessories is far superior to Panavision, in my opinion. I love everything about ARRI's 35's all the way up to the look of the body. With some nice sharp Ziess, Cooke, or Superspeeds, you can't beat it.
