Grains??

I just got the lens from BTH (Finally!!) although the p2's haven't come yet, I used the hard drive, BUT I notice grains in dark areas and I'm at 0db? anybody else experience the same?

Have you guys noticed the noise/grains in the dark are of the image?

yes, the cam is much grainier than I'd hoped for, but again, it performs much better than the HVX and considering it costs 1/4 of what a varicam runs, I consider myself lucky to have it.

You just need to be realistic about what it is capable of and not think you own a Varicam or Cinealta F900 which simply isn't the case...not by a long shot.

I agree with you with being realistic, BUT when the sony Z1U looks to me to have less noise and its a HDV camera, I get disappointed.

Sony's Z1U has a lot less grain than anything else. That's its one main claim to fame, a basically noiseless image.
