View Full Version : Log and capture HV20 to FCP

Does anyone know what settings FCP and the HV20 should be set to to capture HD from the HV20 ?

The only way my FCP recognizes the camera and footage is if all the setting are on DV.

Does this mean the captured footage is now DV ?

You should set DV lock off or else the camcorder will down convert to DV so you will capture it as DV instead of HDV. If the DV lock is off you will capture it as HDV but if you use DV template in FCP than you will again down convert it to DV after rendering.

You should be using FCP6 to get the footage captured right. Here is the best process I have found (you remove the pulldown in Compressor):
