View Full Version : the math doesn't make sense

Okay, I never made it as far as physics in school, but this is simple basic math:

in 1080 24p the HPX says 70 minutes of recprd time - makes sense

in 720 30pn it says 187 minutes record time - doesn't make sense

in 720 24pn it says 170 minutes record time - how can this be less than 30pn if it is recording less frmes?

Another little bur in my side: It looks like there is no variable frame rate for 1080 modes, yet it doesn't say that on the website. If this is so shouldn't variable frame rate section notes they are not applicable to 1080 modes?

Maybe I should be reading this site more often, I'm sure some of you have probably already gone over this.

Actual record times (from pana) on 4x16gb cards

60hz
1080/60i 64 min.
1080/24p (over 60i)
1080/24pA (over 60i)
1080/30p (over 60i)
720/60p
720/24p (over 60p)
720/30p (over 60p)
720/24pN (Native)*2 160 min.
720/30pN (Native)*2 128 min

50hz
1080/50i 64 min.
1080/25p (over 50i)
720/50p
720/25p (over 50p)
20/25pN (Native)*2 128 min.

SD different again. VFR's not included of course.

And all from HPX brochure
Variable Frame Rate
In 720p mode,* the frame rate can be set from the conventional 24p/30p to any of 11 steps between 12p and 60p (or 50p).
